Bye Bye Kangaroo, its been nice having you for the last 5 years but things move on and we will now be getting the Infinity pump from Nutricia Homeward.
We will now have all our Milk and syringe needs delivered to us, which hopefully should make things easier, at least it sounds like it should.
Yesterday we were given a run over of the pump by the Nutricia nurse (though I had already been on the web site and used the online test to find out how it works), so now the order will go in and soon we will have to send our Kangaroo pumps back, leaving us with just a few 500ml feed bags to get rid of.
It will be quite nice to be able to connect the milk bag or bottle (bolus feed) directly to pump, and save having to decant the milk into a bag.
Apart from that things have been ongoing, with a visit to a Rheumatology consultant on friday, which is a department we don't have to visit again.
We also recently paid a visit to the next School Geoff maybe attending with its own SNU (special needs unit).
we had been considering keeping Geoff back with his 2 year delay, but seeing the School it seemed more suitable for him.

Hi ! Good to hear from you again and so pleased the feed and supplies will now be delivered! I cannot imagine what it was like up until now and fail to understand why feed and supplies is not organised this way by all PCT's without fail! The feed is heavy enough let alone everything else and for anybody who doesn't know "enteral feed" in litre bottles can make each box weigh around the 10kg mark! For me this time that was 90kg of order just in feed ( it is not "milk" but a prescription based total nutrition complex fluid) plus all the loads of other things I need!
Hope all goes well with the change over to the new pump and it will be efficient and quiet as some are noisy for people who feed at night ( I cannot and so am thankful not to have the noise next to my bed!)
Sounds good re the new school and hope you will be very happy there Geoff when the time comes to change over.
A post about lots of changes and so far they sound v positive which is great news!
Hope to hear more about it soon.
Chris
PS just a thought what are the arrangements for orders near to Christmas and new year? It might be worth asking for a double lot or have their arrnagement ideas clearly spelt out so things are not left to chance as I don't think Santa has room on his sleigh for our feeding needs too! Sure you have already thought of it but its worth saying for all reading this too- just in case! Chris
